2019 Charity TBA

2018: A portion of proceeds from each race goes back to the memorial and rebuilding efforts. The Joplin Memorial Run is proud to support tornado recovery since it’s transformation from Boomtown Run in 2011 to Joplin Memorial Run in 2012. Since 2012 we’ve donated over $250,000 to United Way, Rebuild Joplin, Bright Futures, and Bill and Virginia Leffen Center for Autism to help with tornado relief and recovery.

In 2018 Our Charity Partner will be Stained Glass Theatre. A 100% volunteer organization that produces family friendly shows for the community. SGT rented their original building from St. Johns and it sat on 26th St just east of the emergency room parking lot and helicopter pad- meaning they were in the direct line of the the tornado on May 22, 2011. Three members of the SGT family were killed and six others sustained massive injuries along with several other minor injuries. There were 56 people in the building that day and it was fortunate that the loss was not greater as there wasn’t a wall remaining. They have purchased a new building that they are remodeling since they could not rebuild at their old location. New location is at 2101 Annie Baxter. Their web site is www.sgtjoplin.com.
